On 23-24 of May the scientific and technical conference “Contemporary Challenges in the Design and Arrangement of Oil and Gas Fields” took place in Tomsk. The conference was organized by Russia’s leading research and design institute TomskNIPIneft. This year the institute celebrates its 30th anniversary.
As a part of the section "Integrated design and construction of oil and gas fields” Sergey Faruntsev, Director of Business Development of Insist Avtomatika delivered a presentation on "Application of Advanced Process Control to improve the efficiency of oil extraction processes".
The report demonstrated the ability to improve the efficiency of oil production by means of Advanced Process Control (APC). The report emphasized the urgency of these works due to fall in world oil prices and active introduction of modern information technology in the oil industry ("smart fields").
Sergey Faruntsev illustrated the results of Insist Avtomatika's research on development of Advanced Process Control systems for onshore oil treatment facilities and suggested the sequence of implementation of APC solutions for such facilities.
